Fall Theater Workshop Series!

On Fridays, Hawk Hill will be offering a unique theater opportunity for tweens/teens (for kids ages 9-16).

This 6-week program for teens & tweens will focus on monologue creation and delivery and scene work with a partner and/or a group. It will take place Fridays from 1 to 3 pm, starting Sept. 18, at 27 Balm Grove Ave. in W. AVL. The cost is $240.

Hawk Hill's approach to theater is unique in that it is the kids who inspire the work. It is their ideas that take precedence. They make the stories. They create the ideas for their monologues, for characters, relationships between characters, themes and plot. We help them throughout this process until their ideas are realized and ready to come to life. Our program will conclude with a showcase of their work performed onstage for parents and friends.

Our Friday theater class will be led by Scott Voloshin. Scott is the co-founder of Hawk Hill Learning Community, and leads The Hawk Hill Players. He and the kids have collaboratively conceived of and written three one-act plays and two full-length plays, which were produced and performed onstage in Asheville for the public.
